MCC NEET PG 2025 Round 3: Choice Locking Starts Tonight at 8 PM
Candidates participating in MCC NEET PG 2025 Round 3 are advised to note that choice locking will begin tonight at 8:00 PM on 1 February 2026. Both choice filling and choice locking will close tomorrow morning at 11:55 AM on 2 February 2026.
This is the final opportunity for candidates to review, rearrange, and lock their preferences before the Round 3 seat allotment process begins. After the deadline, no changes will be allowed under any circumstances.The NEET PG Round 3 result will out soon on 3rd February.
MCC NEET PG 2025 Round 3 New Schedule – All India Quota (AIQ)
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the revised schedule for NEET PG 2025 Round 3 All India Quota (AIQ) counselling. This round includes AIQ seats in government medical colleges, Deemed Universities, and Central Universities. Candidates who wish to participate in Round 3 were required to complete fresh registration within the specified timeline.
The complete Round 3 process includes registration, choice filling, choice locking, seat allotment, result declaration, and reporting to the allotted college. Candidates must strictly follow the schedule to avoid missing important deadlines.

Candidates are advised to complete choice filling carefully and lock their preferences before the deadline. Once the locking period ends, no further modifications will be allowed. Reporting within the given dates is mandatory to confirm the allotted seat.
MCC keeps the Round 3 choice locking window very short because this is the last main counselling round before the stray vacancy round. Colleges need confirmed admissions quickly to avoid further delays in the academic session.
In recent days, MCC has revised schedules multiple times due to court orders, newly approved seats, and administrative updates. Therefore, candidates are strongly advised to stay alert and regularly check the official MCC website for any last-minute notices.
Check this Before Locking Choices
Candidates should log in to the MCC portal and carefully review their current choice list. It is advisable to add safe options, especially clear vacancies, and arrange preferences logically based on eligibility and priority.
Those eligible for special quotas such as Muslim Minority, NRI, or PwD should double-check that the correct quota options are selected. Keeping screenshots of the final choice list is also recommended as a precaution.
In a major development during Round 3 counselling, the Supreme Court of India has directed MCC to add 49 MD/MS seats of Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (HIMSR), New Delhi to the seat matrix. The order was passed in SLP (C) No. 3280 of 2026.
These seats were earlier excluded due to pending approvals, quota-related clarifications, and administrative delays. The court observed that students should not suffer because of institutional or procedural issues and ordered immediate inclusion of the seats.
HIMSR is a Muslim Minority deemed university located in New Delhi and is known for good clinical exposure and modern hospital facilities. The added seats are spread across Muslim Minority quota, NRI quota, and Self-Financed merit seats, allowing a wider group of candidates to benefit.
