FMGE January 2026 Result Declared by NBEMS
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially declared the FMGE December 2025 result on January 29, 2026. The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination was conducted on January 17, 2026 at multiple examination centres across India. Candidates who appeared in the exam can now check their result on the official NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in.
The result has been published in the form of a digitally signed PDF available in the Notice Board section of the website. This PDF carries the official digital signature of an NBEMS officer and is considered the only authentic version of the FMGE December 2025 result. The result PDF will remain available on the website until the declaration of the next FMGE session.
FMGE January 2026 Result Statistics
NBEMS has also released the overall performance data for the FMGE January 2026 session. A total of 43,933 candidates appeared for the examination, making it one of the largest FMGE sessions in recent years.
Out of these, 11,160 candidates have successfully passed the FMGE, while the results of 4 candidates have been kept withheld due to administrative or eligibility-related reasons already communicated individually.
A total of 32,769 candidates did not qualify the examination. Based on the declared figures, the overall FMGE January 2026 pass percentage stands at 25.40%, which is consistent with previous FMGE trends and reflects the challenging nature of the screening test.
Post-Exam Review and Question Evaluation
After the examination, NBEMS conducted a detailed post-exam review of all questions with subject experts from the respective medical specialties. During this review, one question was found to be technically incorrect. As per the approved evaluation policy, full marks for this question have been awarded to all candidates who appeared in the examination.
In addition, one question was identified as having two correct answers. Candidates who selected either of the correct options have been awarded marks accordingly. This corrective evaluation ensures fairness and accuracy in the final result.

FMGE Pass Certificate: In-Person Verification Mandatory

NBEMS will separately notify the schedule and venue details for this verification process on its official website.
It is important to understand that the FMGE scorecard alone is not valid for registration with any State Medical Council. Only the final Pass Certificate issued by NBEMS after in-person verification can be used for applying for permanent or provisional registration.
Coordination with State Medical Councils
NBEMS will directly share a digitally signed Excel file containing the FMGE December 2025 results with all State Medical Councils. These councils have been instructed to preserve the file for official verification purposes and not to seek repeated confirmation from NBEMS.
Withheld Results and Provisional Status
The results of four candidates have been kept under the status “Withheld”. NBEMS has already communicated the reasons for withholding the results directly to the concerned candidates via email.
All FMGE December 2025 results are provisional in nature. If any candidate is later found to be ineligible as per the FMGE Information Bulletin, their result may be cancelled even after issuance of the Pass Certificate.
Important Warnings Issued by NBEMS
NBEMS has reiterated that the use of unfair means at any stage of the examination or verification process will be dealt with strictly as per existing guidelines and may also attract criminal proceedings.
Candidates must preserve their scorecard carefully, as it will not be available after the six-month download period. They should also avoid using the scorecard for State Medical Council registration, as it is not considered a valid document for this purpose.
What Candidates Should Do Next
