NEET SS 2025 Tie-Breaker Criteria (Inter-se Merit)
When two or more candidates secure the same score in a particular NEET SS super specialty question paper group, NBEMS applies a step-wise tie-breaking process to determine the final inter-se merit. These criteria are followed strictly in sequence until a unique rank is assigned to each candidate.
First preference is given to the candidate with the least number of negative responses in the entire question paper, as this reflects overall accuracy. If the tie still continues, the candidate with fewer negative responses in Section A is ranked higher, followed by fewer negative responses in Section B and then Section C.
If candidates remain tied even after comparing negative responses section-wise, the aggregate percentage of marks obtained in all MBBS professional examinations is considered.
For Indian citizens or OCI candidates who completed their primary medical qualification outside India, the FMGE percentage is taken in place of MBBS aggregate marks. These values are self-declared at the time of application and rounded down to two decimal places.
In the rare event that all the above parameters remain identical, the older candidate is placed at a better merit position and assigned a higher rank in the NEET SS merit list.
