Priority System for NRI Seat Allotment (As Per Official MCC Notice)
MCC has clearly mentioned that NRI seat allotment will be done strictly based on a priority system. Seats will be allotted in a fixed order, depending on the candidate’s relationship status.
Priority 1 (Annexure I)
• NRI candidates themselves
• Children of NRIs
Candidates under Priority 1 will be considered first for NRI seat allotment. If seats remain vacant after Priority 1, only then Priority 2 candidates will be considered.
Priority 2 (Annexure II)
• First-degree relatives of NRI wards
• Second-degree relatives of NRI wards
This priority-based system ensures that direct NRI candidates get first preference, followed by extended family members, subject to availability of seats.
Important Warning About Document Verification
The MCC has clearly stated that the released NRI eligible list is provisional in nature. Final admission depends on successful verification of original documents at the allotted medical college.
At the time of reporting, candidates must submit:
• Valid proof of NRI status
• Relationship certificates (as applicable)
• Sponsorship affidavit (if required)
• Passport, visa, and other supporting documents
If the allotted college finds any deficiency or mismatch in documents, the college has full authority to cancel the NRI seat allotment immediately, even after allotment.
Round 3 (Mop-up Round) is the phase where maximum NRI seats become available due to resignations, upgradations, and non-reporting in earlier rounds.
With more than 800 eligible NRI candidates now officially approved, competition for premium branches like:
Radiology, Dermatology, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, and Surgery
is expected to increase, especially in Deemed Universities across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Rajasthan.
Next Steps for NRI Candidates
• Check your name carefully in the official MCC NRI eligible list PDF
• Prepare all original documents in advance
• Fill NRI choices carefully during Round 3 choice filling
• Track MCC counselling updates daily on mcc.nic.in
NRI candidates should also remember that seat allotment follows NEET PG merit rank within each priority group. Having NRI eligibility does not guarantee a seat unless rank and choices align.
This notice has been issued with the approval of the competent authority, and candidates are advised to follow only official MCC instructions to avoid mistakes during counselling.
