Assam MBBS NEET Cutoff 2025: Government , AIQ , NRI Quota Cutoff CategoryWise
Assam State MBBS NEET Cutoff 2025 released round-wise and category-wise closing ranks for government medical colleges through DME Assam and MCC counselling. Check cutoff trends for state quota (85%), All India Quota (AIQ) and NRI quota across UR, OBC/MOBC, EWS, SC, ST, PwD and special Assam categories to understand MBBS admission chances in Assam’s top government colleges.
Assam offers around 1,150 MBBS seats primarily in government medical colleges. Counselling is conducted through multiple rounds including Round 1, Round 2, mop-up, and stray vacancy. Due to the absence of private MBBS colleges in Assam, competition for government seats remains very high, especially under the state quota.
Assam Government Colleges MBBS Cutoff 2025
Government MBBS seats under the 85% state quota are reserved for Assam domicile candidates and are highly preferred due to low tuition fees and strong clinical exposure. Top colleges such as Gauhati Medical College and Assam Medical College record high cutoffs for the general category, while reserved categories benefit from comparatively lower thresholds. State quota cutoffs are usually more accessible than All India Quota cutoffs for the same institutions, with slight relaxation observed in later counselling rounds.
Major government medical colleges influencing Assam MBBS cutoff trends include Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, Silchar Medical College, Silchar, Jorhat Medical College, Jorhat, and Tezpur Medical College, Tezpur. Among these, Gauhati Medical College consistently closes at the highest ranks due to its reputation and urban location.

Assam NRI Quota MBBS Cutoff 2025
NRI quota seats are available in limited numbers in select government medical colleges in Assam. These seats carry significantly higher fees and are allotted based on NRI eligibility and document verification rather than purely on merit rank. As a result, cutoffs under the NRI quota are considerably lower and often remain close to NEET qualifying marks. If NRI seats remain vacant, they may be converted to general seats as per counselling rules.
Government institutions such as Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati and Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh are known to offer limited NRI quota seats, making them attractive options for eligible NRI candidates seeking admission to high-prestige government colleges with relatively relaxed cutoff requirements.
