Important Advisory Issued by NTA for NEET UG 2026

NTA has already advised candidates to update important documents such as Aadhaar details, category certificates, and PwD documents before filling the application form. In previous years, thousands of applications were rejected due to document mismatches.

Candidates must ensure that their personal details exactly match official records. Even small spelling errors in name or date of birth can create problems during counselling.

NEET UG 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for NEET UG 2026, candidates must be at least 17 years old by 31 December 2026. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the examination.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. Minimum marks required are 50% for General and EWS categories, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, and 45% for PwD candidates.

Step-by-Step NEET UG 2026 Registration Process

NEET UG 2026 registration will be conducted completely online through the NTA portal. Candidates must first create an account using their basic details and a valid mobile number and email ID.

After account creation, candidates need to fill academic details, choose examination centres, upload required documents, and pay the application fee. Once submitted, candidates should download and save the confirmation page.

Documents Required

Candidates should keep scanned copies of passport-size photograph, signature, thumb impression, Class 10 certificate, and category or PwD certificates ready before starting the application process.

All documents must be uploaded in the prescribed format and size. Blurred or incorrect uploads are one of the most common reasons for application rejection.

NEET UG 2026 Application Fee

The expected application fee for NEET UG 2026 is ₹1700 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, ₹1000 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, and a higher fee for NRI and foreign applicants.

The fee can be paid online through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. Once paid, the fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

How Union Budget 2026–27 Impacts NEET UG Aspirants

Union Budget 2026–27 has announced a significant increase in healthcare spending and expansion of medical education infrastructure. Thousands of new MBBS and PG seats are planned over the next few years.

This expansion may slightly ease competition in the long term, but NEET UG remains highly competitive. Strong preparation and correct application submission remain essential for success.

Candidates should regularly check the official NTA website for updates and avoid relying on unverified sources. Keep documents ready, review details carefully, and do not wait for the last day to apply.
