How Much NEET 2026 Refund Will Students Receive?
After the cancellation of the earlier NEET UG 2026 examination, many students are asking how much refund amount they will receive from NTA.
The refund amount will mainly depend on the category under which the candidate originally registered for the examination.
| Candidate Category | Application Fee Paid (India Centres) | Application Fee Paid (Outside India) |
| General | ₹1700 | ₹9500 |
| General-EWS / OBC-NCL | ₹1600 | |
| SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender | ₹1000 |
In addition to the registration fee, candidates had also paid applicable processing charges and GST during form submission. NTA has now announced that students will not be required to pay any additional amount for the RE-NEET 2026 examination.
Can Students Change RE-NEET 2026 Exam Medium?
No. NTA has clearly stated that the medium of examination selected during the original application form submission cannot be changed.
This means students must appear in the same language medium selected earlier while filling the NEET UG 2026 application form.
Why Is City Selection Showing Unavailable?
Some candidates are receiving a message stating that city selection is unavailable based on updated address and examination medium.
NTA clarified that this happens because certain examination languages are available only in specific states or cities. Since the medium cannot be changed now, city selection depends on the language option selected during registration.
Will Students Get the Same Exam Centre Again?
No guarantee has been given regarding the same examination centre.
NTA stated that examination centres are allotted based on:
- Selected examination city
- Availability of centres
- Random allotment process
Therefore, the RE-NEET 2026 centre may be different from the earlier allotted centre.
