Maharashtra HSC 12th Biology 2026 – Chapter-Wise Important Questions, Weightage & 3-Day Smart Revision Plan
Biology is the last major scoring subject for Maharashtra HSC Science students and the 2026 paper is scheduled on 25 February 2026 (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM). Unlike Physics and Chemistry, this paper is less numerical and more conceptual. Marks mainly come from clear diagrams, correct biological processes and proper comparison tables. If revised strategically, Biology is one of the easiest subjects to push your total above 90%.
Paper Pattern (70 Marks Theory)
| Section | Marks | Nature of Questions |
| Section A | 18 | MCQs + Very Short Answers (Attempt all) |
| Section B | 16 | Definitions, differences, short explanations |
| Section C | 24 | Processes, labelled diagrams, reasons |
| Section D | 12 | Long answers with compulsory diagrams |
Important: In most 3 and 4 mark questions, diagram + explanation together fetch full marks. Writing long paragraphs without a diagram usually loses marks.
Practical: 30 marks (spotting, experiment, viva, journal)
Passing Criteria: 35% aggregate
