Established in 1999, Yenepoya Medical College has grown into a prominent institution for medical education in India. Initially affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, the college started with a batch of 100 MBBS students. In 2009, Yenepoya Medical College became a constituent college of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), marking a significant milestone in its journey. Over the years, the college expanded its academic offerings, introducing postgraduate courses (MD/MS) in 23 departments and super-specialty courses (M.Ch./DM) in 3 departments. With approval from the Medical Council of India, the college increased its MBBS intake to 150 students in 2011 and recently, in 2023, received permission from the National Medical Commission to admit 250 students, demonstrating its commitment to meeting the growing demand for qualified medical professionals.
