About College Campus


The college campus, spanning 23 acres in the scenic Balh Valley of Mandi district, is designed to provide a conducive learning environment for students. The infrastructure includes administrative and hospital blocks, an 800-seated auditorium, an architecturally impressive library, and various student accommodations, including hostels for boys and girls. The campus also hosts a Nursing College, which is affiliated with Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), and offers post-graduate courses in Microbiology and Pharmacology, along with DNB programs in several clinical specialties. Since its establishment, the college has grown to accommodate a total of 560 undergraduate students, with an intake of 120 students annually since 2019. SLBS GMCH is committed to advancing medical education and improving healthcare in the region, with plans to expand its offerings to include super specialty departments and additional postgraduate courses in the near future.

About Hospital


Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Hospital (SLBS GMCH) was established to meet the healthcare needs of central Himachal Pradesh, providing essential medical services to the region's population. Inaugurated in May 2017, the hospital began patient services in October 2018. With a sanctioned bed strength of 500, SLBS GMCH includes specialized units such as Intensive Care, Cardiac Care, and Pediatric Care Units. The hospital features ten modern, modular operation theatres and a range of diagnostic and treatment facilities, including a Blood Centre, Dialysis Unit, and an Advanced Diagnostic Centre. During the COVID-19 pandemic, a dedicated 100-bed COVID hospital was operational, highlighting the institution's commitment to addressing public health challenges. With a strong human resource backbone, SLBS GMCH employs 86 faculty members, 92 residents, and 314 staff nurses, ensuring comprehensive healthcare delivery to patients.
