About College Campus

Smt. B. K. Shah Medical Institute & Research Centre, located on the expansive 65-acre campus of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth in Piparia, Vadodara, Gujarat, is dedicated to delivering quality medical education in a rural setting. Established in 2003, the institute began with an intake of 150 MBBS students, later achieving recognition for the MBBS program in 2008. With its status as a constituent college of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth, a deemed university since 2007, the institute has significantly expanded its academic offerings. In 2009, it commenced postgraduate programs with 69 PG degree seats in 20 subjects and 25 PG diploma seats, which have since grown to 136 PG seats and five super-specialty programs (D.M./M.Ch.).

Established in 2002, Dhiraj Hospital, the teaching hospital affiliated with Smt. B. K. Shah Medical Institute, has evolved into a 1065-bed tertiary care facility. Equipped with state-of-the-art healthcare technology, the hospital provides a wide range of services to the rural community and serves as a practical training ground for students. It supports the institute's mission of excellence in medical education and patient care, offering advanced medical treatments across multiple disciplines, aligning with the institute's vision of producing skilled healthcare professionals.
