About College Campus

Government Medical College, Rajouri, was established by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir in 2017 with the goal of delivering quality medical education and healthcare services to the Peer Panchal region. Located just 3 kilometers from the district headquarters of Rajouri and well-connected to Jammu and Srinagar, GMC Rajouri aims to address the healthcare needs of this remote region. While the main campus is still under construction, temporary academic facilities have been arranged within the District Hospital Complex in Rajouri. These include two lecture halls with a seating capacity of 120 each, a spacious dissection hall, four laboratories, and a well-equipped library, all designed to provide students with a comprehensive learning environment. Additionally, nearby residential accommodations have been arranged for faculty and students, ensuring a comfortable and conducive environment for learning.

About Hospital

GMC Rajouri is closely integrated with the District Hospital Complex, where practical training and clinical education for the MBBS students began in 2019. This partnership enables students to gain hands-on experience in a real-world hospital setting, benefiting both their training and the healthcare needs of the local community. As the primary healthcare provider in the Peer Panchal region, the District Hospital serves a significant patient base, offering students extensive exposure to diverse medical cases. This arrangement supports the college’s mission to uplift healthcare services in the region while preparing students to become skilled medical professionals.
