Government Medical College and Hospital, Keonjhar, established with the foundational stone laid by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Sj. Naveen Pattnaik on 2016, aims to enhance the doctor-population ratio in the region. The college, spread across 44.40 acres, utilizes the nearby District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) as its teaching hospital, which is located approximately 5 kilometers from the main campus in the town of Keonjhar. This hospital boasts a capacity of 385 beds across various clinical departments. The college itself includes a 500-bed teaching hospital designed to support the educational needs of 100 MBBS students annually. Additional facilities at the campus include a 650-seat auditorium, extensive parking, sports amenities, roads, and advanced infrastructure such as a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Water Treatment Plant (WTP), and Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), enhancing the learning and living environment for students and staff.
