Government Medical College, Anantnag (GMC Anantnag), established in 2018, stands as a prominent institution for healthcare education in South Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir. Located in Dialgam, just 7 kilometers from Anantnag district, the college offers a peaceful and scenic environment that enhances the learning experience. Affiliated with the University of Kashmir and recognized by the National Medical Commission, GMC Anantnag admits 100 students per year for its MBBS program through NEET-UG. In 2020, the college introduced postgraduate training courses, including DNB and PG-Diploma programs, with the sanctioned intake growing from 32 seats in 2020 to 55 in 2023. Additionally, GMC Anantnag has a dedicated Nursing & Paramedical College, offering courses with an annual intake of 100 students and affiliated nursing and paramedical colleges in Kulgam, Pulwama, and Shopian, furthering healthcare education in the region.
