Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) is a budding medical institute established by the Government of Karnataka in 2013-14 with the aim of providing quality medical education and healthcare services to the region. The institute began offering 150 MBBS seats from the academic year 2016-17 and has since grown into a significant center for medical education in the state. The campus is strategically located on national highways 948, 181, and 766, making it accessible to students and nearby communities. With modern infrastructure, including well-equipped lecture halls, laboratories, and a library, CIMS provides an ideal learning environment for aspiring medical professionals. The institute is nurturing around 750 medical students, supported by over 200 qualified doctors and faculty members, ensuring a comprehensive medical education.

The hospital at Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) is a vital part of the institute, offering comprehensive healthcare services to the surrounding communities. With a newly constructed 450-bedded facility, the hospital is equipped with modern medical technology, including 9 operation theatres, a 30-bed trauma and emergency department, and specialized departments such as cardiology, nephrology, urology, and neurology. The hospital provides both outpatient and inpatient services, along with critical care units to handle complex medical cases. It plays a key role in supporting the clinical training of medical students, while also serving as a crucial healthcare center for the district and neighboring areas, ensuring accessible, high-quality medical care for the population.
