AIIMS Jammu, officially known as All India Institute of Medical Sciences Vijaypur, is a premier public medical institute located in Vijaypur, Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) with its foundation stone laid in 2019 and operations starting in 2020, it is an autonomous Institute of National Importance in the AIIMS network. The institute offers undergraduate programs like MBBS (with increasing intake, currently around 100-125 seats) and B.Sc. The AIIMS Jammu Hospital is a cutting-edge tertiary care facility integrated with the institute, serving as a teaching hospital while providing advanced healthcare to the people of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and neighboring regions. Authorized with 750 beds (including 193 ICU beds and trauma/emergency beds), it features around 20 modular operation theatres and is progressing towards full operationalization with imported high-end equipment.
