Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital (AVMCH) was established in 2000 by the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Educational and Charitable Trust, founded by Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram. Located along the Pondicherry-Cuddalore National Highway, the 44-acre campus provides a serene, self-contained environment for learning and patient care. Initially affiliated with Pondicherry University, AVMCH became part of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation Deemed University in 2004. The college offers postgraduate courses in 16 disciplines and PhD programs across various specialties, with an annual intake of 150 MBBS students and 88 postgraduate students as of 2021. Currently, over 750 students are pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies at AVMCH, benefiting from a curriculum designed to develop skilled medical professionals who can contribute to society’s well-being.
