Among government institutions, Patna Dental College and Hospital, Patna remains the most competitive, as it is the flagship dental college in the state with strong clinical exposure and long-standing academic reputation. It usually records the highest cutoffs among government dental colleges in Bihar. Government Dental College, Darbhanga is another best institution, offering good infrastructure and comparatively more accessible cutoffs than Patna, especially in later counselling rounds.

General category cutoffs remain higher in government colleges, while reserved categories such as BC, EBC, SC, ST, EWS and RCG see lower closing ranks. Female sub-quota and other reservation policies also influence the final cutoffs, with some relaxation typically observed in later rounds.

Bihar BDS All India Quota (AIQ) Cutoff 2025

The All India Quota includes 15% seats in Bihar government dental colleges and is filled through centralized counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). These seats are open to candidates from all states without any domicile requirement.

Under AIQ, Patna Dental College and Hospital consistently remains the most competitive choice due to its national reputation and clinical exposure. AIQ cutoffs are generally higher than Bihar state quota cutoffs for the same college because of nationwide competition. 

Bihar Private BDS Colleges – General Cutoff 2025

Private dental colleges in Bihar offer seats under state quota and management quota. State quota seats are usually reserved for Bihar domicile candidates, while management quota seats are open to candidates from across India. Tuition fees in private colleges are significantly higher than government institutions.

Colleges such as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Patna and Buddha Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Patna are among the prominent private options in the state. These institutions generally record lower cutoffs compared to government colleges, especially under management quota and in later counselling rounds, making them accessible to candidates with moderate NEET scores.

Bihar Private BDS Muslim Minority Colleges Cutoff 2025

Muslim Minority quota is available in selected private dental colleges in Bihar and is reserved for eligible Muslim candidates with valid minority certification. These seats are allotted through BCECEB UGMAC counselling with strict document verification.

Mithila of Dental Sciences and Hospital Darbhanga, Patna commonly features Muslim Minority quota seats. Cutoffs under this quota are generally lower than general private seats, providing improved access for eligible candidates, particularly when demand remains moderate.
