Assertion-Reason Questions Increased This Year

One of the biggest observations made by students was the noticeable increase in assertion-reason type questions compared to previous year papers.

Many candidates said these questions required:

  • Careful reading
  • Strong conceptual clarity
  • Better analytical thinking
  • Good time management

Because of this, even students who found the concepts familiar felt that the paper became slightly lengthy and mentally demanding during the actual attempt.

Previous Year Questions Were Comparatively Lower

Students also noticed that the number of direct previous year repeat questions and repeated topics was comparatively lower in this session.

Instead of straightforward memory-based questions, the exam focused more on:

  • Clinical understanding
  • Integrated concepts
  • Application-based approach
  • Conceptual reasoning

This shift made the paper feel different from previous INI CET examinations.

According to student reactions, the majority of candidates attempted approximately 170 to 180 questions out of 200.

The new 4-part timed format also played an important role in attempts because students had to manage each section carefully within the fixed 45-minute duration.

Many candidates reported that:

  • The paper was not impossible
  • The real challenge was maintaining speed and accuracy
  • The section-wise format increased pressure slightly

Impact of New 4-Part Exam Pattern

The newly introduced section-wise structure became one of the major talking points after the exam.

Under the new format:

  • The paper was divided into 4 sections
  • Each section contained 50 questions
  • Each part had a fixed 45-minute timer
  • Previous sections could not be reopened after time expiry
